Values

We are a Relationship driven church: We are in passionate pursuit of God through the help of the Holy Spirit

Relationship

Building a healthy relationship with God through Prayer and Bible study that transforms the individual into a disciple of Christ, so they in turn disciple others.

Love Of God

We endeavour to express the love of God in active participation in the life of our community, City and globally with all people of goodwill in responsible stewardship of our world.

Unity

Unity is encouraged because there is strength in it. The Christian walk is not a lone ranger’s walk but the act of belonging to a family of God’s people (a local church) – Psalm 133.

Service

To make available our time, talents and treasures in the service of God (vertical relationship) and humanity (a horizontal relationship).

“You are members of God’s very own family… and you belong in God’s household with every other Christian.”(Ephesians 2:19)

“Alone we can do so little, together we can do so much.” – Helen Keller

Mission

Our mission is to seek to educate the minds

To seek to educate the minds and elevate the spirits of people to appreciate the transforming power in the hearing and application of the Holy Scriptures, which in turn produces an effective lifestyle (Psalm 1:1-3 & Romans 5:17).

Mission

To seek to educate the minds and elevate the spirits of people to appreciate the transforming power in the hearing and application of the Holy Scriptures, which in turn produces an effective lifestyle (Psalm 1:1-3 & Romans 5:17).

Meet The Pastor

Originally from Ghana where he was instrumental in the setting up of the African Christian Mission – the headquarters of which were based in the USA – Eric came to London after 7 years of ministry work in Ghana and Italy. He was then ordained by a Body now known as the International Ministerial Council of Great Britain in 1990.

Earlier Eric had earned his initial diploma in Ministerial Studies at the Hampstead Bible School of Faith in North West London. Continuing his work in the capital, he also obtained a Diploma in International Mission (Cross-Cultural Ministry and Leadership) from The Centre for International Christian Ministries, moving on to then serve as a Pastor in a couple of Elim Incorporated churches. He also did some work with the Southwark Diocese Race Relations Commission (Black Forum), which later became known as the Minority Ethnic Committee.

In the year 2000, Eric came to Bristol for a Teacher Training Programme with St. Brendan’s College and attended Westbury Baptist Church at this time. He later became involved with Highgrove Church in Sea Mills as part of the leadership. Eric then went on to set up the Kingdom Power Mission in London. The places he has ministered in England include Hull, London, Bristol, Derby, Doncaster, Surrey, and Salisbury. To date, his international speaking engagements reach as far afield as the United States.

He holds a B.Sc (Hons) degree in Social Policy and Social Administration and Theology as well as a Master’s Degree in Theological Studies from University of Surrey, Roehampton (1999) where he wrote a dissertation in ethics entitled “Is the Inherited Christian Ethics Sufficient for Today?” In addition to being a member of Evangelical Alliance UK, Eric has been involved in some short term mission trips with projects to empower the poor and disadvantaged, helping to support orphanages and strengthening some local churches in places such as Ghana and Togo. His passion is to help people discover, activate, release and maximize their God-given potential.

Eric’s interests include issues of social justice, the gospel and social transformation, prayer and spiritual renewal. Eric is the Pastor of City Road Baptist Church, Bristol. He is also currently the Chair of Churches Together in Greater Bristol (CTGB), and Together4Bristol. He presently serves as a member of the Accompanying Group to the Baptist Steering Group of the Baptist Union of Great Britain.
